Hi, my name is Juliana Sampayo
I was born and raised in Brazil, surrounded by the warmth of a kitchen that was always full of people and flavor, and many times laughter and love too. To me, food was never just food — it was culture, family, celebration, it was comfort. At 26, I packed my bags and moved to the United States, carrying with me my roots, some recipes, and a heart full of dreams.
I'm a graphic designer with a background in psychology — a combination that might sound unexpected, but makes perfect sense to me. I've always been drawn to the way things look, the way people feel, and the invisible threads that connect the two. Art, people, and food are the three great loves of my life, and somehow, they all find their way into everything I do.
I'm also a mama. My daughter is the kindest, sassiest little force of nature. Some of my favorite moments are the ones we spend together in the kitchen — flour on our hands, something bubbling on the stove, and so much laughter.
This blog means a lot to me.
During my adolescence and into my early twenties, I struggled deeply with my relationship with food. Binge eating took up so much space in my life — mentally, emotionally, physically. Food had become a band-aid for frustrations, a way to cope when things felt too heavy to carry. It took years of therapy, nutritional education, and an enormous amount of love and support from my friends and family to find my way back to myself.
And I did.
Today, food is something entirely different to me. It is energy, fuel, joy, and nourishment. No longer a coping mechanism that kept me from my own dreams — but something I use to honor them.
This is the place where I organize my thoughts around food and what it truly means to me now. A place for wholesome, nourishing recipes that taste like love.
A place for honesty.
A place where you are always welcome, exactly as you are.
So whether you're here for the recipes, the stories, or simply because you're on your own journey with food — I'm so glad you found me.
Now let's make something delicious together!
